Golden and Glowing, 500 Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula patrons, benefactors, and volunteers celebrated 50 years of making a difference for youth in our community. Dazzling details included oversized news clippings of Club milestones, guest emcee BGCA Hall of Fame actor Courtney Vance and an inspirational performance by American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle singing with Club kids as back up.

“Rodin by Moonlight” Voted "Best Black Tie Event in The Bay Area" by the SF Chronicle, this biennial fundraiser for 400 used dramatic elegance combined with “Le Corbusier’s less is more” philosophy as the inspiration for a smashing black and white bash at Cantor Arts Center.

Remember sleepaway camp—3 weeks of cabins, sleeping bags, nature walks, arts and crafts, food fights and fun? Recreated in the heart of Atherton on the Menlo Campus, this fundraiser for 1600, complete with canoes, Airstream RV’s and towering redwoods inside and out, raised a record level of FUN-ds for Menlo School.

“How to Fit 100 years of Living into a Nifty 50” was the theme of this walk down memory lane. Cocktails at sunset with views as far as the eye can see, sumptious dining and time to kick up their heels were all on the menu for the evening’s guests. The entertainment highlight of the night was a spectacular musical medley celebrating the couples’ milestone memories set to fave tunes from each decade.

DREAMS & DETAILS founder Melissa Badger is a “style and substance” force to be reckoned with; a natural entertainer with a unique intuition for throwing the kind of party everyone wants to attend - and talks about for days after! It was her passion for philanthropy - 20+ years of envisioning and producing major fundraising events and milestone celebrations for a whole host of organizations including the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, Stanford University Cantor Arts Center, and the Junior League of Palo Alto-Mid Peninsula (to name a few) - that led her to launch her firm, DREAMS & DETAILS, in 2010.
Growing up in the Bay area, Melissa set her sights early on a career in Interior Design. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree she started her career here on the peninsula and within a few short years founded her interiors firm, Design Corner Inc. The cross over to event design evolved quickly; merging her passion for philanthropy with her love for transforming spaces into striking event environments - she discovered she COULD have her cake - design an event around it - and eat it too!
Combining incredible vision and out-of-the-box creativity with a keen desire to bring endless positive energy (spelled F-U-N) to every effort quickly made her the “go to” event designer for friends and non-profits in the know.
